Exercise Coastwatchers Set to Return to Honiara

An Australian Defence Force team will be back in Honiara from late August until late September to partner with the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) on a range of training- including small boat handling and maintenance, and border surveillance.

The nationwide Mass Drug Administration (MDA) a program that aims to treat everyone with scabies medicine that commenced last year in Honiara and across the provinces, have again commenced in Honiara City on Wednesday 16 and will complete 29 August.
Essential drugs such as panadol, antibiotics, anti-fugal, anti-inflammatory, ibuprofen, ampicillin, and diclofenac, including IV antibiotics and dressings are out of stock.

The ongoing shortage of drugs in the country is being addressed, officials from the Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) say.
