RSIPF Officer Graduate from FBI National Academy

A Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) officer, Senior Sergeant Raymond Togapada, made history as the first RSIPF officer to graduate from the prestigious Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, in the United States of America (USA).
“We all share the responsibility of confronting the security challenges ahead. The success of this strategy relies on the collective efforts of every Solomon Islander—citizens, communities, and institutions alike. The government is committed to leading and resourcing this strategy, but it is through our active participation that we will succeed.”

MHMS Technical Officials Provide Training to Kiribati Counterparts

In recognition of Solomon Islands successful efforts in the rollout of its Mass Drug Administration (MDA) on Scabies and Trachoma, the Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) – Solomon Islands National Neglected Tropical Diseases technical officers are currently in Kiribati offering trainings.

Australia Supports RSIPF with ICT Equipments

Australia has gifted the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force Police Prosecutions Department (PPD) new ICT equipment to support its critical mandate – promoting a safe, secure and peaceful Solomon Islands.

The Solomon Islands National University (SINU) Campus Life and Welfare Services Department successfully launched the Campus Sports Activities on Friday, 21st March, at the Kukum Campus New Hostels Hall, in collaboration with the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport (SINIS).

Sir Francis Laid to Rest in Home Village

Former Prime Minister and Senior Statesman Sir Francis Billy Hilly was laid to rest at his home village of Koriovuku on Ranongga Island, Western Province, last Friday.
“Without hesitation, police arrested 10 people, aged between 21 and 31 years old for engaging in unlawful gambling,” Chief Superintendent Tafoa said.

Police Arrest Gamblers in Auki Town

Police at Auki police station in Malaita Province have arrested and charged seven males and three females in Auki town during a police raid targeting gambling in public places including individuals who allowed their premises to be used for illegal gambling activities.
The event brought together staff and students from SINU  and representatives from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management, and Meteorology, and the Ministry of Forestry and Research and local residents.

700 Trees Planted at Bloody Ridge on International Forest Day

The International Day of Forests was commemorated last Friday with a large-scale tree-planting event at Bloody Ridge, a site of historical and ecological significance in the Solomon Islands.
