Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) and Commissioner Jasper Highwood Anisi of the Solomon Islands Electoral Commission acknowledged the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) for the safe and efficient delivery of ballot papers to the provinces.
April 17th will be a public holiday to accommodate the polling day for the general election, Provincial Assemblies election, and the Honiara City Council election.

In a move to facilitate the smooth conduct of National, Provincial, and Honiara City Council elections, the Solomon Islands Government has declared Wednesday, April 17th, 2024, as a public holiday.
