MSG Secretariat Has a New Director General

After a lengthy process, the MSG Secretariat has a new Director General, he is Mr. Leonard Louma OBE from Papua New Guinea.
Hon. Kofe was nominated by Guri Melby, the leader of Norway's Liberal Party, for his work in raising awareness of climate change issues, particularly the threat of climate change to his low-lying Pacific Island nation, Tuvalu.

At the time of Tonga’s volcanic eruption and tsunami on 14 January 2022, there were an estimated 150,000 Tongans living overseas. Of these, close to 5,000 Tongan workers were employed across Australia and New Zealand under their respective Pacific temporary labour schemes.
