The people of East Guadalcanal were treated to a visit from the Taiwan Mobile Medical Mission at the Good Samaritan Hospital at 10.30 am this morning.

The Taiwan Mobile Medical Mission have recently arrived from the Western Province and their visit to the Good Samaritan Hospital is part of their mission to provide free medical treatment to various Provinces in the Solomon Islands.

Solomon Times met up with a few locals who have been very grateful to the visit from the medical team.

"This is an opportunity I would never miss. We do not often have visits from doctors in Honiara. Such a visit from the Taiwanese team shows their great concern for the rural people," stated Mr.Berthwell Suba.

"I am very grateful for the chance to receive medical treatment for such experienced doctors. With the visit from the Taiwanese medical team, I know I am in good hands," stated another local, Mr. Jacob Kobo.

A grateful mother of four, Mrs. Janet Hobata, also stated that with the newly built hospital, medical treatment is now accessible to the people of East Guadalcanal. "The donation means that proper services will be provided. I am grateful for Taiwan for providing much needed equipments," continues Mrs. Janet Hobata.

The visit of the Taiwan Mobile Medical Mission shows continued strengthened diplomatic ties between Republic of China and the Solomon Islands.
