In its efforts to increase the effectiveness of the delivery of its programmes, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has opened a new office in Honiara.

Najib Assifi, Representative and Director Country Technical Services Team in the UNFPA Office for the Pacific based in Suva, Fiji, says they are pleased that UNFPA has setup a sub-office in Solomon Islands.

Assifi says the focal person at this office is newly recruited Programme Analyst, Polini Boseto, who joins UNFPA with over 10 years experience in the area of social and development policy of Solomon Islands.

Ms Boseto holds a Masters in Science Degree from the Tufts University in Massachusetts, USA.

She will have the responsibility of managing and coordinating UNFPA Programmes in the Solomon Islands.
