Solomon Islanders across the globe have rallied behind their Miss Solomon Islands, Ms Gladys Habu who is contesting for the Miss Pacific Island crown.

Hosted this year in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, the Miss Pacific Island contest have contestants from twelve countries in the Region.

Miss Solomon Islands arrived last Sunday in Moresby and together with other contestants and their chaperones have been making site visits to various locations in Moresby. 

On Social Media, Solomon Islanders have also taken to the Miss Pacific Island facebook page to vote for their Queen for the Mss People's Choice Awards. Miss People's Choice Awards will be on of the many awards given on the night of the crowning. The contestant with the most likes or reactions on her picture will win the Bmobile Miss Peoples Choice Award. Solomon Islanders have since been sharing the page countless times to get as much votes for their Queen. 

Miss Solomon Islands, a part Papua New Guinean, was born in Port Moresby 24 years ago and is a graduate in Pharmacology (with Honours) from Monash University in Melbourne and is currently an intern pharmacist at the National Referral Hospital, Honiara.

She is a climate change action champion and will use the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant platform for her advocacy.

The Miss Pacific Island Pageant will end this week with a Crowning at The Stanley Hotel on Saturday November 30.
