Tulagi police are looking for five men from Gela, Central Islands Province who are believed to be on the run after they allegedly attacked and injured four people on 10 January 2009.

The incident occurred at Gairavu village, Nautuha District at approximately 6.00pm during which a man and a woman were allegedly stabbed with a kitchen knife.

The male victim sustained two stab wounds, one on his head and another on his left upper arm while the female victim sustained a stab wound on her head. Two other male victims were allegedly assaulted with sticks and stones.

The four victims were taken on the same day to Saint Claire's Hospital at Taroniara for medical attention. They have since recovered from their injuries and have been discharged from the Hospital.

Police are urging members of the public who may have any information in relation to the incident to come forward or contact Tulagi Police on 32999 or the crimewatch number - 999.

The investigation is continuing.
