The Australian High Commission is bringing out previous Australian Idol Contestant, Australian artist Hayley Jensen. Hayley will be in Honiara for a week to conduct a workshop for finalists competing in this year's show.
A special session in the training workshop will involve coaching programmes for judges. Hayley will also perform in the grand final round of the show.Hayley's visit is expected to raise the profile and musical standard in the country. She will be the guest of honour in the finals and is expected to crown the 2008 Solo and Young Executive Idol.
The 2008 Solo Idol Steering Committee, headed by the Global Youth Nexus, is expected to use such platform to explore further opportunities to foster relationship between Australia and Solomon Islands' Artists.
Solo Idol show is scheduled to be held at Honiara, Multi-Purpose Hall on the 6th July, 20th July, 3rd August, 24th August, and 7th September 2008. A total grand prize of twenty thousand dollars including trophies will be given to winners. The categories in this years show will include the Young Executive category with age ranging from 8-13 years and Idol category for those aged above 14 years.
