Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force at the Naha Police Station are investigating an alleged unlawful wounding incident involving two women in Honiara on 22 September 2020.

An initial report on the incident say the victim contacted her boyfriend on a mobile phone and made plans to meet him at the Solomon Island National University (SINU) Panatina campus.

The victim then boarded a bus at the Tenaru area and came down to meet with her boyfriend at the SINU Panatina bus stop.

It is alleged that while the victim was at the SINU Panatina bus stop her boyfriend’s wife appeared with a scissor and unlawfully stabbed the victim on several parts of her body.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander Honiara City Superintendent George Paikai says, “The victim was taken to the National Referral Hospital (NRH) for medical treatment after the incident. The matter was reported to police at the Naha Police Station by the victim and an investigation into the incident is now underway.”

“The suspect escaped after the incident and is still yet to be arrested by police. I call on the general public who may have been in the SINU Panatina bus stop area to come forward to police at Naha with any information about the incident,” says Superintendent Paikai.
