The University of the South Pacific (USP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Korea University last week to establish links for a student and staff program.

According to the Fiji Sun, USP's vice chancellor, Professor Rajesh Chandra, said the deal is the direct result of a visit he made to Korea University in October last year which was sponsored by the Korea Foundation.

"This is part of the efforts by the university to envelop academic exchange and cooperation in teaching and research for the advancement and dissemination of learning," Prof Chandra said.

According to the report, the MOU is for an initial 5 years and the deal 'would offer admission from one university to the other to qualified students'.

"Students from Fiji will be permitted to engage in Korea University international summer campus programme adminstered each year for six weeks from June to August," Prof Chandra said.
