Public Sector Unions in the country have met the government late yesterday afternoon relating to their Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) demands.

General Secretary of the Solomon Islands Teachers Association Johnly Hatimoana confirmed that the Unions met the government to discuss their 11.5% COLA demands.

The Union, after making the rejection, presented a second option to the government on July 28 with an ultimatum for the government to respond 28 days within the date of issuance.

This means the government had until Saturday this week to respond.

Meanwhile, Mr Hatimoana states that the negotiating team will meet later today to discuss the outcomes of the meeting and will make a joint statement shortly.
