Our Telekom and Triathlon Solomon Islands (TriSI) are inviting interested persons or organizations to join one of the fastest growing sports in the country.

Our Telekom's Chief Executive, Mr Martyn Robinson, stated that "triathlon is an exciting sport and we are happy to be supporting this community 'team day' to get more people involved and feeling good about getting fit".

In laying down the challenge Mrs Christina Lasaqa, Operations Manager for Our Telekom, who are sponsoring the team day said, "We are issuing a friendly challenge: Who is the fittest and fastest organisation, school or business in Solomon Islands? We will find out on Saturday!"

Word around town is that certain banking groups have already issued a strong challenge to its rivals.

TriSI Vice-President Maxon Ala, who is one of the team members representing the Solomon Islands at the South Pacific Games, said he encouraged young and old, women and men, to organize two friends to join in the fun.

"The 'tri' in triathlon means three: swimming, cycling and running. Usually all three are done by the one person, but this Saturday is a team day where one team member does one part only," he said. An aquathon is also available which is only swimming and running without any cycle leg.

Male and female teams are welcome to join the fun and compete for thousands of dollars worth of Our Telekom products including phone cards and merchandise. Random prizes will also be awarded to the participants.
