Veteran distance runner Chris Votu has done it again, winning another gold medal in the 10-thousand metres race.

Mr. Votu on Wednesday won a Gold medal in the 3000 steeple chase event.

Meanwhile, 12-year old Betty Babalu is the talk of the Mini South Pacific Games in the Cook Islands.

Unfazed by the event and the huge crowd watching, the young Miss Babalu took to the field barefooted clinching the women's 5000 metres title yesterday.

The young 12 year old primary school student clocked 20 minutes 10.29 seconds to beat Fijian Sereima Liku.

Miss Liku, who managed to clock in 20 minutes 10.67s, gave away her lead just five metres away from the mark.

Miss Babalu showed guts and sheer determination when she made an emphatic comeback in the last five metres to clinch the Gold.

She ran her 10-thousand metres race yesterday evening.
