Solomon Water says it has given three water tanks to the Ziata landowning community at Noro, Western Province, in a statement published on the Solomon Islands Government portal on 5 October 2026.
The handover happened on Tuesday, September 29th, and involved two 5,000-liter tanks together with one 10,000-liter tank, the statement said, describing the delivery as recognition of the support the community has given.
According to Solomon Water, the tanks will back community plans to add storage for Goldie Secondary School, and the handover shows the utility intends to keep working alongside the landowning group while the Noro-Ziata Water Supply Project is carried out.
The statement said that scheme forms one subproject of UWSSSP, or Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Project, which it said is intended to widen access to water and improve its quality for the Noro area.
Solomon Water thanked the Ziata Community Advisory Committee (CAC), representatives of the landowning group and residents more widely for cooperating as the project has gone on, the statement said.
Its contractor, REEVES, has sat down with the Ziata CAC and landowner representatives to hear concerns, deal with grievances and work out answers jointly so that work on site is not interrupted, Solomon Water said.
Solomon Water said it would keep working with residents, the provincial government and other stakeholders until the Noro-Ziata Water Supply Project is finished.
