Papua New Guinea came into this tournament as the highest ranked nation but disappointed in their opening round loss to Fiji, while Solomon Islands came into the tournament as the lowest ranked nation and impressed everyone with a strong showing in a narrow loss to Australia.
The Solomon Islands are currently one win from two games. The women’s team lost earlier to Australia’s U20 young Matilda’s 2-1.
