Subject to regulatory approval, Solomon Airlines will operate a series of further repatriation flights later this month, to bring more stranded Solomon Islands citizens home from Kiribati and Fiji and to enable foreign nationals to depart Solomon Islands to Australia and other onward international destinations.

Details of the special flights are as follows:

  • 19 November – Honiara-Tarawa-Nadi Flight

IE626 will operate as a commercial flight departing Honiara at 7.00am arriving in Tarawa at 10.45am, re-departing Tarawa at 11.45am and arriving in Nadi at 2.25pm. A negative COVID-19 test result taken 3 days prior to departure is required to be accepted for boarding. Passengers are unable to be accepted to Tarawa only on this service, due to Government of Kiribati restrictions. In Tarawa, Solomon Islands Government approved passengers will board for travel to Honiara only, via Nadi.

  • 19 November – Nadi to Honiara Flight

IE627 will operate as a repatriation charter only for Solomon Islands Government approved passengers, departing Nadi at 3.45pm, arriving Honiara at 5.45pm.

  • 20 November – Honiara to Brisbane

Flight IE601 will operate as a one-way commercial flight travelling from Honiara to Brisbane. The flight will depart Honiara at 3.15pm, arriving in Brisbane at 5.30pm. Seats are strictly limited in accordance with Australia Border Force and QLD Health quarantine requirements.

All flights into Solomon Islands are Government managed repatriation charter flights. Passengers wishing to travel will need to contact their nearest Solomon Islands Government embassy or mission for details. A negative COVID-19 test result taken 2 days prior to departure is required to be accepted for boarding.

Passengers wishing to leave Solomon Islands on the Honiara to Brisbane services must have approved right of entry to Australia or an immediate connection in Brisbane within 8 hours of arrival. All transit passengers will be required to provide proof of onward connections prior to booking.

All Solomon Airlines flights comply fully with the COVID-19 regulations of the relevant countries. Solomon Airlines crew on board the airline’s A320 aircraft wear facemasks and gloves for the duration of service and catering is minimal to reduce contact between passengers and crew.
