The Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport (SINIS) continue to deliver through the ongoing support from the Solomon Islands Government to acquire more training equipment to support National Federations in the country.

Included in the shipment on Wednesday 10th August 2022 was a range of international standard equipment, approved by the respective International Federation to support the national team athletes in the daily training environment offered by the staff at SINIS.

In addition, other equipment included a large portable pool that will assist athletes in various rehabilitation and recovery programs, commercial grade SINIS branded pop up tents for various outdoor programs and events, cardio equipment for the SINIS High Performance gym, international athletics equipment for the new warm up track at KG IV including Para sport throwing chairs, sport medicine kits, nutrition and hydration packs and other various items.

SINIS Executive Director Aaron Alsop assured that the quality of the equipment is important to ensure that the investment lasts for many years.

The sports equipment includes; Tents, Spin bikes, First aid Gears, Athletics equipment, Balls & bibs and Office equipment.

“The equipment will be immediately available to the various sports and athletes during their training at SINIS,” Alsop made the assurance.

Alsop further acknowledges the assistance from NHA Chairman Dr. Jimmie Rodgers, the Australian High Commission and the logistics team of the ADF for coordinating airlifting of the equipment through a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) flight.

SINIS continues to operate over 84hours per week with up to 400 athletes and coaches per day attending various trainings, programs and services.
