San Isidro Care Centre, Aruligo, a training centre for people with disabilities received much needed help this week with a $ 9718.25 donation from ANZ.

The donation is part of ANZ's "Blue Week" when all ANZ branches across the Pacific held events to raise funds for and awareness of worthy causes in their local communities. ANZ's donation is on top of the funds raised through various activities during ANZ Blue Week.

ANZ General Manager, Mr Brian Robb, said: "ANZ is committed to supporting our local communities and helping important causes such as San Isidro Care Centre. The funds raised were through support of our customers, & ANZ would like to thank our customers as well as the public who have contributed to this cause. ANZ will match the funds raised, dollar for dollar"

Care taker of the San Isidro Care Centre, Br George said that they are delighted that ANZ has heeded their appeal for help. "We are very thankful for ANZ's support. We have just established the Centre & any help received whether it is cash or donation in kind, it is greatly appreciated"

Apart from San Isidro Care Centre, other local charities & organisations were also supported during the ANZ Blue Week. ANZ Panatina, supporting Christian Care Centre raised $1606.45; ANZ Gizo supporting Special Dietary Patients, Gizo Hospital raised $2410; Malaita HIV & AIDS Centre, Kilufi'i Hospital supported by ANZ Malaita raised $6888.00; & Noro Clinic supported by ANZ Noro raised $2750.40.

$ 23,373.10 was raised during ANZ Blue Week through out the country. ANZ will match that; hence a total of $46, 746.20 will be given out to the various charities & organisations.
