The Solomon Islands government had been quietly replacing a number of Permanent Secretaries and ushering in their replacements.

The reshuffle had been happening over the month of July.

The Permanent Secretaries made redundant by the NCRA government include two women PS's - Jane Waetara of the Ministry of National Planning and Aid Coordination and Mylin Kuve of the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development.

A number of Permanent Secretaries from the last government have also been re-shuffled.

Various reports stated that new Permanent Secretaries have been installed to the Ministries of Education and Human Resources Development, Police and National Security, Foreign Affairs and External Trade and the Ministry of Commerce.

The Government had also appointed Mr. Tioni Bugotu as the new Commissioner of Lands, who formerly a Special Duties Permanent Secretary of the previous government.

The Prime Ministers Office and the Public Service Commission remain tightlipped over the subject saying that all appointments and redundancies will be made known through the Government Communication Unit.

It was udnerstood that the Public Service Commission had met over the new wave of appointments and terminations at the end of last month.
