This morning, the Solomon Islands Police Force, together with their RAMSI counterparts, organized an event to commerate the Blue Ribbon Day at the Police Memorial Park.

Also in attendence were His Excellency the Governor General, Sir Nathaniel Waena and the Deputy Prime Minister, Fred Fono.

The Blue Ribbon day was to remember Police officers who had died while on duty.

The Acting Police Commissioner, Peter Marshall did a Honor Roll, where he listed names of officers who died on duty in the past few years in Solomon Islands, Fiji and New Zealand.

"We proudly remember those who have died in the execution of their duties since the foundation of our nation," stated Mr. Marshall.

The official program ended this morning with the laying of wreaths.
