Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) stated in a media release this week that the second OFC Beach Soccer Championship will take place at Auckland's Vector Arena on July 7th and 8th, 2007.

Vector Arena - the entertainment hub of the pacific - will play host to Oceania's top beach soccer nations as they seek to take out the OFC Beach Soccer Championship - New Zealand 2007 and book a place at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup - Rio de Janeiro 2007.

"The idea to take the tournament to Vector Arena was based on the need to name a representative for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup by August," says OFC General Secretary Nicholas Tai.

"Our relationship with Vector Arena is excellent and that they've really come on board to help make this a memorable OFC football event. We've been delighted with Vector's support," Nicholas said.

Defending OFC champions, Solomon Islands, return to defend the title that saw their team - known as 'The Bilikiki Boys' - take the Copacabana by storm at FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup - Rio de Janeiro 2006.

FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup goal scoring hero James Naka will be out to reignite his love affair with the OFC Beach Soccer Championship and will be one of the players to watch after his O-League exploits with Marist FC.

Solomon Islands caused a major stir by beating African champions Cameroon 5-2 in the opening match of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup last year with Naka helping himself to a four goal haul.
