The presence of our Pacific Peoples at the Expo 2020 Dubai is certainly generating a lot of interest especially amongst our global visitors to our respective Pavilions.
In recognition of our collective desire as South Sea Islanders to make an impression on the margins of the largest show on earth, the Solomon Islands has sent a strong delegation consisting of representatives from government, business and cultural sector.
The delegation consists of the Minister for Commerce Industry Labour & Immigration (MCILI) and Head of the Solomon Islands Delegation, Hon. Frederick Kologeto, his Deputy Secretary Technical, Mr. Eric George Ongoa and Mr Bob Pollard, Managing Director of Kokonut Pacific Limited. A group of cultural performers are in Dubai, eager to showcase the cultural landscape of the Solomon Islands.
The delegation took time out to visit the Marshall Islands, Samoa, Palau, Nauru, Tonga, Papua New Guinea and Fiji Pavilions on Sunday 19th December,2021.
The visit also gave Minister Kologeta an opportunity to invite our fellow Pacific Peoples at their respective Pavilions to be part of the Solomon Islands National Day to be held on Tuesday 21st December.
The Minister acknowledged our Commissioner General, Ambassador Moses Kouni Mose, and his team, for the advance preparations. He also thanked all fellow Pacific Islanders who had received and welcomed his delegation in our usual traditional manner.
