A basic Japanese study team on the project for improving of water supply system in Honiara and Auki, Malaita last week visited Honiara.

Reports from the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) said that the team consists of 4 consultants.

This as reported from the JICA office is for the improvement of water supply in Honiara and Auki. The team's visit last week was however only to Honiara.

During their visit in Honiara, the team held meetings with Solomon Islands Water Authority (SIWA) and courtesy call to the Ministry of Mines and Energy.

This was believed to have been for a report on the past ongoing projects and to look into ways to further improve the projects.

SIWA office when contacted for information on the matter did not disclose their side of the story.

Solomon Times understands that the team will be revisiting Solomon Islands to work on the Auki, Malaita water supply projects.
