The Ambassador of Israel to Solomon Islands, His Excellency Roi Rosenblit has presented His Credentials to the Acting Governor General, Hon. Patterson Oti this morning.
In welcoming the Israeli Ambassador, the Acting Governor General Mr Patterson Oti said the relationship between Solomon Islands and Israel is historical, since Solomon Islands is named after the biblical king of Israel “King Solomon” and further echoed that this perspective has always been the basis that artistically connects and bonds Solomon Islands with Israel.
The Acting Governor General, Hon. Oti, also conveyed to His Excellency Roi Rosenblit, that the people and Government of Solomon Islands have profound trust in Israel as a partner, and will continue to work together with the Israeli Government to develop this cordial partnership to achieve lasting prosperity, trust, and cooperation in matters of mutual interest going forward.
This visit is the first by any Israeli Government representative to Solomon Islands post pandemic, thus, brings forth the opportunity for face to face dialogue between both parties to enhance and promote meaningful cooperation between Solomon Islands and Israel.
The Israeli Ambassador will have courtesy meetings later with the Prime Minister, Hon. Manasseh D. Sogavare (MP), the Supervising Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Hon. Peter Shanel Agovaka (MP), and the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Hon. Augustine Auga (MP).
