Veteran national and former Avaiki utility Blacky Mamata slotted home three penalty conversions for Airlines edging Matangiki at fulltime. The men in blue could do little with their second half try and failed to convert registering only five points.Airlines' tight defence and excellent recovery rate frustrated the Matangiki side to concede errors and were penalized often in ruck situations and offside plays.

Matangiki gave away two crucial penalties sealing Airlines match winning points thanks to the versatile goal kicker Blacky Mamata.
