The Malaita Maasina Forum has dismissed a report that it supports the nomination of Gordon Darcy Lilo as one of the candidates for for Prime Minister.

The Forum's General Secretary, William Gua, says the report that appeared in the Solomon Islands leading newspaper, Solomon Star claiming support for Mr Lilo remains untrue.

Mr Gua says Mr Lilo is one of the four MPs that they would like removed from the previous Governmner under Hon. Danny Philip.

"No such thing came from the Malaita Maasina Forum and the Taskforce which is working with the Forum. We never supported him, in fact he is one of the four which we demanded to be sacked from the NCRA government. And if he comes back into power, it would be hurtful. It will be very hurtful to us."

Mr Gua says Mr Lilo still has a number of issues over his head which need to be cleared.

Mr Gua says the people of Solomon Islands want a good leader and it is up to the members of Parliament to choose the right person to be the Prime Minister.
