The official funeral service of the late Member of Parliament for Baegu-Asifola, Honorable Toswel Kaua will take place this morning at the St. Barnabas Cathedral in Honiara.

The service will be conducted by the Cathedral Dean, Davidson Nwaeramo.

According to the official program, a series of eulogies will be presented by a government representative, the leader of opposition Steve Abana, and members of the late MP's family.

The late Honorable Kaua died on Tuesday night after a long illness.

He had served extensively as a school teacher and later as a public servant, making his way up through the ranks to be the Secretary to the Prime Minister and Cabinet before resigning and successfully contesting the 2006 national elections.

He was serving his second term as MP for the Baegu-Asifola constituency when he passed away.

He is survived by his wife Alice Kaua, three children and grandchildren.

The late MP's passing is a second death for the new National Coalition for Reform and Advancement government since taking office in August this year.
