The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force received a commendation letter from the Solomon Islands Chinese Association (SICA) and a plaque thanking the RSIPF for the exceptional service in April 2019.
The plaque which reads, ‘To the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) In Recognition of Exceptional Leadership and Dedicated Service To the Chinese Community April 2019, Thank You from Solomon Islands Chinese Association.’ It was received by Commissioner Matthew Varley and Deputy Commissioner, Gabriel Manelusi at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara.
“On behalf of the members of the Association together with the Chinese community, I would like to express our deepest and sincere gratitude to you and your hardworking staff for the excellent work done in containing the violence over the days in April 2019,” Says Matthew Quan, Chairman of the Solomon Islands Chinese Association.
“Special mention must go out to your field staff who put their lives in the front line for the work they did for the sake of peace in this Nation of ours.”
“The behind the scenes planning and execution of such an operation is beyond anything we can truly comprehend. We acknowledge that the time put into this plan and the execution of such a plan takes up valuable human resources.”
“A gesture of thanks to you, your office staff and field operatives and indeed everyone else who was involved we would like to honour your organisation with a congratulatory plaque to mark this occasion.”
“This plaque represents the respect the Chinese community has and always had in work carried out by the RSIPF.”
On behalf of all the RSIPF and Correctional Services officers who were involved in the Operation, Commissioner Varley thanked the Chinese Association for recognition of the hard work and dedication of the officers.
“This plaque and words of the accompanying letter means a great deal to all the RSIPF and CSSI officers who took part in the Operation. We thank you for your recognition of our work,” says Commissioner Varley.
