In his recent visit to SINIS, the Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare has donated SBD$10,000 each to 40 schools that participated in the 2021 National Secondary School Games (NSSG).

The donation was to enable the schools to obtain necessary sporting equipments.

“Once again I reiterate my appreciation to the 40 participating schools for making the effort to attend the inaugural national secondary school games,” PM Sogavare stated." 

“Sport is an important part of any society. It values and nurtures principles such as RESPECT, HONESTY, INTEGRITY, SPORTSMANSHIP and FAIRNESS. It is these very principles that help advance solidarity and promote social cohesion in a society."

He further maintains the country’s aim to achieve 40 Gold Medals at the Sol2023 XVII Pacific Games.

“We will be hosting the 17th Pacific Games in November 2023 and I hope that some of our students will be representing our country in these games."

“I hope that this sporting equipment will assist you in training for the games. I trust that some of the medals we seek will be won by some of our students who participated in last year’s games." 

PM Sogavare also expressed his overwhelming appreciation to see the progress of the SINIS institute after just 4 months since the official opening on March 11th.
