The 2008 Annual Premier's Conference to be held in the Temotu Province, far east of the Solomon Islands, has been postponed for the 15th of September 2008 instead of September the 8th as planned.

Mr. Fred Ganate, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Provincial Government, says the delay was to allow the Provincial Government to complete a few more important tasks and especially that of the venue preparations for the conference.

Mr Ganate said that these are only minor preparations yet to be completed and sorted.

Contributing to the delay was the shortage of fuel to provide electricity and the recent bad weather experienced in the country.

Taking centre stage this Premier's Conference will be the Federal State system and the Federal Constitution.

Other pressing issues relating to all Provincial Governments will also be discussed.

Mr Ganate says for the first time ever, the Temotu Premiers Annual conference will feature presentations from all key Government partners, including the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands, RAMSI.
