For the first time in almost 30 years Solomon Airlines will operate a one-off Honiara–Auckland-Honiara flight.

The Solomon Airlines flight is about to depart Auckland, repatriating Solomon Islanders in New Zealand.

The flight is arranged by the Solomon Airlines after approval was granted by the government and relevant agencies in New Zealand.

Solomon Airlines flight IE691 departed Honiara 8:00am this morning, arriving in Auckland just after midday. Solomon Airlines flight IE692 is about to depart Auckland, expected to arrive in Honiara this evening.

The repatriation flight is open to Solomon Islands citizens residing in New Zealand who wish to return home. The flight is also open to foreign nationals who have sought and received clearance from the Solomon Islands government.

All foreign nationals on board will be entering Solomon Islands Government approved quarantine accommodation at their own expense.

Solomon Airlines advises that all flights will comply with the COVID-19 regulations and requirements of the relevant countries.

Solomon Airlines crew will wear facemasks and gloves for the duration of service and catering will be minimal in order to reduce contact between passengers and crew.
