The airline has now suspended operations until further notice, until the runway can be repaired. Flights to Lomlom are also affected due to no fuel supply being available at Lomlom Airport.

“We sincerely regret this interruption to operations and any inconvenience it may cause to our customers, however the safety of our passengers and crew is always our utmost concern,” the Airlines said in a prepared statement.

Solomon Airlines plans to resume services as soon as the runway is restored to a safe condition.

Lata is the provincial capital of Temotu Province in the Eastern part of Solomon Islands.
