Solomon Airlines has donated four buckets with a total of 46 litres of paint to the Rotary Club of Solomon Islands for repainting of the maternity Ward or any other ward the Rotary Club believes may assist the National Referral Hospital.

The buckets of paint were handed over to the President of the Rotary Club Sebastian Ilala, last week.

The paint were a donation from a Brisbane based company as part of Solomon Airline’s fundraising drives for infants and children as an adjunct from the fundraising on our Airbus Aircraft.

Since last year, Solomon Airlines has raised $130,000 from its loose change collection on its international flights on the Airbus in partnership with the Rotary Club under the Romac programme.

Solomon Airlines, in handing over the donated paint, mentioned that the Rotary Club will plan with health administrators on how it can be best used to help infants in Solomon Islands with or other Rotary identified and agree projects with Solomon Airlines.

In receiving the paint, Ilala, who is also a recipient of the Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry inaugural business excellence awards, thanked the airline for its continued support of Rotary’s work in helping infants in Solomon Islands.
