Ambassador Chan told the prime minister that the two projects are rural development projects consistent with the Solomon Islands government policy of rural advancement.

"The refurbishment of the Bellona Provincial headquarters will result in administrative efficiency which will benefit the people of this distant province," said Ambassador Chan.

"This will also promote the island tourism industry and enhance rural area development," reports the embassy.
