Solomon Airlines has announced that regular passenger flights both to and from Lomlom will restart from next week.

Effective from Tuesday 13 September, a new weekly service will operate from Honiara to Lomlom via Kirakira, with flight times as follows:

  • Flight IE394 will depart from Honiara at 11.00am arriving in Kirakira at 12.00pm, departing Kirakira at 12:20pm, arriving in Lomlom at 2:10pm.
  • IE395 will then depart from Lomlom at 2:30pm arriving in Kirakira at 4.20pm, and then continuing to Honiara at 4:40pm, arriving at 5:40pm.

The restart of operations follows a successful test flight conducted on Tuesday using Kirakira as an alternate fuel stop.

“We are pleased to be able to reintroduce our Lomlom service via Kirakira and continue to facilitate the movement of passengers and cargo to and from Temotu Province,” said Gus Kraus, CEO of Solomon Airlines.

“Our priority is to operate safe, reliable air services that connect communities within the Solomon Islands. This will ensure that flights can continue while the Lata runway is being repaired,” he said.

Bookings for the flights can be made online at www.flysolomons.com or through the airline’s Point Cruz Office in Honiara on (+677) 20152 or sales@flysolomons.com.sb
