The Solomon Islands Police Force, Solomon Islands Prison Service and members of RAMSI's Participating Police Force (PPF) conducted a training exercise designed to improve the preparedness and capability of officers when working together to control situations of public disorder at Rove Prison.

Senior officers from the Police and Prison Service controlled the training exercise at Rove Prison that involved a group of role players demanding the release of a prisoner at the main entrance.

The training was very successful as officers from the Prison Service, Police and RAMSI's PPF worked well together to take control of the situation.

Senior officers from Police and the Prison Service have agreed to conduct more combined training in the future to develop new skills and build on the existing capabilities.
