Police arrest a male adult person for alleged murder of a 55-year-old male person in Guadalcanal Province.
Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have arrested a male adult person for the allegation of murder at Boromole Village at Komuporo area in north Guadalcanal in the early hours of Tuesday morning, 6 September 2022.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Guadalcanal Province, Chief Superintendent Rodney Kuma says, “It is alleged that the suspect had an argument with the deceased and they confronted each other.”
PPC Kuma says, “It was dark at the time of the incident so other family members could not see what really happened, after the confrontation the deceased fell on the ground.”
Chief Superintendent Kuma says, “The suspect then turned to other family members and assaulted them as well. Shortly after the incident, the suspects’ older brother came and chased the suspect out and helped the deceased.”
Mr Kuma says, “The deceased was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital and pronounced dead on arrival. Currently, the dead body is at the National Referral Hospital morgue, pending post-mortem. Investigation into the matter is continuing.”
Mr Kuma says: “My condolences to the immediate family members and relatives of the deceased for the loss of their loved one. We pray for comfort during this time of sadness.”
