Papua New Guinea based Pacific Adventist University (PAU) a tertiary institution operated by the South Pacific Division of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church has offered collaboration and partnership with the Solomon Islands Government.
PAU Vice Chancellor, Professor Teatulohi Matainaho said, PAU’s research platform is available and can be used by the government in its policy or legislative research.
“Like other universities, PAU seeks to collaborate and foster partnership with governments, industries and communities to promote research and innovation to address the most challenging problems of today’s society.”
Professor Matainaho adds that PAU commits to working alongside the Solomon Islands Government to expand the country’s elites.
He stated that a distinct feature of the University while preparing students to be experts in their field of study is promoting a Christ-like education experience.
Students must be able to adapt to the new phases of technology…. “Innovative and entrepreneurship. The ultimate goal is to inspire the next generation of mission-focused innovators.”
Prime Minister Hon. Manasseh Sogavare has acknowledged PAU and other institutions contributions to the development of Solomon Islands human resources.
He welcomed and appreciated PAU’s offer in the research platform.
PM Sogavare agrees, research is key to holistic reforms and emphasised on ‘Godly manners’ as the fabrics of a moral society.
The Prime Minister further explained, the country’s future is in its natural resources.
“We want to train our people to relate to our natural resources.”
