The Under-23 Our Telekom Cup Football Tournament will continue despite the weekend's violent incident.

General Secretary of the Solomon Islands Football Federation, Eddie Ngava, said the unforeseen violent incident will not disrupt the competition.

He said the incident stemmed from lack of understanding by some spectators who do not know the rules of the game and how game officials made decisions.

The violent incident erupted moments after the final whistle for the end of the game, which saw West Honiara defeat Malaita Eagles one-nil.

The games local organising committee will meet to consider the incident today.

Mr. Ngava said the outcome of the meeting will be passed to the disciplinary committee which will meet tomorrow afternoon.

He said the Malaita Eagle's final game against Central Shields on Wednesday will be subjected to any decisions made by the disciplinary committee.
