The Member of Parliament for Maringe Kokota constituency in Isabel Province has welcomed the opening and handover of a government funded terminal building to the Province on Monday.

Honorable Varian Longamei who was a former Aviation and Communication Minister said the new terminal will provide improved services for passengers travelling in and out of Fera Airport.

The new terminal building consists of separate comfortable lounges for arrivals and departures with clean convenience and resting facilities on Fera Island’s western beachfront.

Hon Longamei said the new facility is vital for tourism development in his constituency, especially, on Fera where his team is planning to build tourism related facilities on the island.

Mr Longamei said his people are lucky to have the airport and called on his people to respect the facility for the benefit of very one travelling to Isabel, especially Buala.

Governor General Sir Frank Kabui and Minister for Communication and Aviation Honorable Walter Folotalau were given the opportunity to join Isabel Premier James Habu to cut the ribbon to officially open and to handover keys to the new facility Monday morning.

The handing over of the facility marked another milestone for the national government policy in advancing basic infrastructure in the aviation sector, especially in ensuring that the facilities provide adequate services to the traveling public.
