The ANZ Bank has appointed its Solomon Islands local senior officer, David Teikangongo Dennis, to Country Head ANZ Cook Islands.
His appointment will become effective as of September this year.Mr. Dennis who comes from Bellona Island in Rennell and Bellona Province becomes the first Solomon Islander to take up the country head position with the ANZ Bank.
ANZ Solomon Islands Head, Brian Robb, says "Mr Dennis has worked at the highest level as Chief Operating Officer for ANZ Solomon Islands and this appointment is a reflection of the hard work and dedication he puts in."
In his previous role, Mr. Dennis was Head of Retail, responsible for ANZ Branches, Rural and Electronic Banking. Commenting on Mr. Dennis's appointment, Mr. Robb said ANZ is committed to developing and providing opportunities for its people worldwide.
Mr. Dennis is a qualified Chartered Accountant in Australia and a Fellow of the Institute of Insurance and Finance.
"ANZ invests in its people and will provide worldwide opportunities to develop their locally talented people," Mr. Robb said.
ANZ Solomon Islands has 138 staff, 6 branches, 18 ATM's and 4 mobile Banks.
