The world’s most intelligent body scanner, the Evolt 360 Body Composition Analyzer is in the country.

The EVOLT 360 earlier this month was part of the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport (SINIS) High Performance seminars where two Pre-Training nutrition seminars were successfully conducted with high performance athletes attending.

The seminars covered the importance of nutrition components prior to training and competition. It covers the proper type and timing of eating food and taking in required energy needed prior to training – and a brief on hydration intake.

SINIS Nutrition department highlights that the seminars gives light to essentials of eating and hydrating, also discussing the importance of choosing the ‘Carbohydrates’ to eat prior to training and what type of food that are not encouraged.

  • Timing of eating /drinking
  • What to eat /drink
  • What not to eat/ drink
  • The amounts recommended etc…

Solomon Islands athletes for the first time will have access to a simple-to-use 60-second scan that provides detailed data about a body through more than 40 measurements – at the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport (SINIS) High-Performance program.

The machine gives athletes a clear goal of choosing whether they want to lose fat, gain muscle or have better health.

SINIS High-Performance already started scanning athletes from weight and combat sports who have regular gym sessions on their schedule.

Also when accessing the High-Performance Nutrition services this machine calculates an athlete’s energy needs and also their carbohydrate, protein and fat needs – based on their goal.

This will help the Nutrition department to provide advice on how they can choose their goals and will closely work with the athletes as they come back for check-ups to see the progression.

High-Performance Strength and Conditioning coaches are continuously doing training to operate it, while online capacity building with an Education Specialist from the EVOLT group is also ongoing.

SINIS looks forward to using this body analyzer as a tool that will also contribute to enhancing the performance of the athletes.

Some of the readings that could be done using the scanner are as follows:

  • Lean Body Mass
  • Body Mass
  • Protein
  • Visceral Fat mass
  • Subcutaneous fat mass
  • Total Body water
  • Basal Metabolic rate
  • Total Energy Expenditure
  • Macro Nutrient Recommendations
  • Supplement Recommendations
