Over 30 representatives from government, ministries, CSOs and private sector organizations that work in the sectors that involve in joined the inception workshop to initiate the design and development of and effective and robust iMRV tool.

The iMRV Tool will help the Solomon Islands Government with preparing the GHG inventory, measure progress in GHG mitigation and adaptation actions, tracking Means of Implementation, support needed and received and measuring the linkages and impact on the SDGs by sectors.

The iMRV Tool aims to operationalize the MRV Roadmap and information system supporting the National Climate Change Policy. It also allows the Solomon Islands Government to fulfil the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) of the Paris Agreement and potential enhancement for market and non-market-based approaches.

The workshop was organized by the Climate Change division under the Ministry of Meteorology, Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Meteorology (MECDM) in partnership with UNDP Solomon Islands Integrated Approach to Disaster Risk Management (IDRM) project with financial support from the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (Australian High Commission, Solomon Islands).
