Senior officials from the Ministry of Rural Development successfully completed the consultation on the CDF Act 2023 draft regulation and its Drafting Instructions with the Noro Town Council, the public, and other stakeholders of Western Province.

The team paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Fred Napthalae, President of Noro Town, as part of their consultation on the draft regulation and instructions for the Constituency Development Funds (CDF) Act 2023.

The visit allowed the team to brief President Napthalae and his executive on the ongoing reforms aimed at improving CDF governance.

The consultation provided invaluable insights from local councillors, officials, and stakeholders, who expressed appreciation for the ministry’s efforts and thanked the DCGA Government for passing the CDF Act 2023. Participants also anticipated that the draft regulation would lead to greater accountability and transparency in implementing the CDF Program.

MRD Deputy Secretary Technical (Supervising), George Balairamo, emphasized that this regulation is part of broader efforts to strengthen CDF mechanisms and improve governance.

President Napthalae expressed his support for the legislative reforms, praising MRD's work on the CDF Act and the ongoing consultations. "We are pleased to see the progress on this vital Act and welcome your efforts to improve governance in Noro,” he said, adding that he looks forward to the finalization of the regulation, which is expected by the end of the year.

MRD’s consultation efforts will continue this week in Buala, Isabel Province.
