Sacked Solomon Islands Attorney-General, Julian Moti, has been granted bail on child rape charges.
International reports state that a Brisbane court hearing granted Mr. Moti bail on a AUD$100,000 surety.The bail is to be provided by Mr. Moti's Brisbane-based uncle, according to international reports.
Mr. Moti, a 42-year-old who was deported from Solomon Islands last month, is facing seven charges of indecent acts with a child under 16.
The charges carry a maximum penalty of 17 years imprisonment.
International reports state that Mr. Moti is ordered to reside at his parents' house at Castle Hill in Sydney, New South Wales.
He is to report to police there daily.
The controversial lawyer also has to surrender passports and travel documents within seven days.
Mr. Moti is due to return to court on February 15.
