The Australian Federal Police (AFP), through the RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP), has entered into an agreement with the Islands Bible Ministries for the delivery of English Classes to the RSIPF recruits.
The English class program is fully funded under RAPPP and will see the Islands Bible Ministries providing English Classes designed to strengthen the English competency skills of the RSIPF new and future recruits.
Acting Commander RAPPP, Clinton Smith, welcomed the opportunity to support the RSIPF with such important training.
“This is an important training because of the nature of policing duties and the need to record information within various documents and computer databases,” Acting Commander Smith said.
The Director of the RSIPF’s Learning and Development, Supt. James Teilo, thanked the AFP and acknowledged the strong and enduring partnership it shares with the RSIPF and the financial and advisory support it continues to provide through the RAPPP.
The RAPPP is diverse in its assistance to the RSIPF with the focus on assisting the RSIPF meet its operational objectives. This training demonstrates how the program is a responsive partner, working collaboratively with the RSIPF to address gaps. The program uses local suppliers and services and continue to not only support RSIPF but also boost local Solomon Islands businesses.
The Islands Bible Ministries has previously delivered English classes to the last two RSIPF Recruit Courses in 2021 and 2022.
The Islands Bible Ministries Executive Director, Dr Alpheaus Zobule, thanked the RAPPP for the opportunity to once again deliver English classes to the RSIPF.
Dr. Zobule said feedback from the students English courses conducted for RSIPF recruits previously has been positive.
