The 2008 Budget is framed on the clear policy directions stipulated in the Government's Policy Statement and the Translation and Implementation Framework.

This was highlighted by the Minister of Finance, Snyder Rini when tabling this year's national budget in Parliament Tuesday.

Parliament heard that the 2008 Budget is fully funded and framed on the clear policy directions stipulated in the Government's Policy Statements and the Translation and Implementation Framework.

Mr. Rini said that the budget prioritises the people of Solomon Islands, to address the need for improvement and enrichment on their lives.

"There is no time for the government to waste energy on criticizing the Forum nations whom they have invited to help the country and who have been actively giving contributions to the developments of Solomon Islands."

Mr. Rini also emphasized on the strong partnership that the Government has with development partners, saying that there is greater scope and capacity to progress economically and succeed in the endeavour.

"This will see all Solomon Islanders having the opportunity and capability to succeed in a diverse range of industries and businesses," said the Finance Minister.

Mr. Rini stressed that it is time to move forward with an active faith in unity and with the desire to lead and serve the country to the best ability.
