Construction work is expected to start soon on the development of Doma township, West Honiara.

Premier of Guadalcanal Province, Stephen Panga, says a three man team has arrived from Fiji to help the provincial government finalize physical planning before work starts on the provincial capital township.

He says the provincial government is keen to have a township built in a neater physical layout to avoid problems faced by most townships in the country where there are no proper physical plans.

He says the overseas team's engagement in the project was made through the Ministry of Provincial Government and Institutional strengthening.

He says actual physical ground work on the Doma project will kick start when all necessary paper work plans are completed.
