Starting today, the Australian Defence Force (ADF) is teaming up with Rugby Australia, the National Rugby League, and Volleyball Australia to deliver a sports training program at the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport (SINIS).
The program focuses on training local referees and coaches in Volleyball, Rugby League, and Rugby Union.
After a welcome from ADF, SINIS, and local sports leaders, participants kicked off with 'Level 1 coaching training' for all three sports.
ADF Group Captain Jay Clarke expressed excitement about the partnership, noting the practical sessions planned throughout the week.
These sessions will enhance coaching and refereeing skills, with High Performance activities in Rugby Sevens and Nines involving players later in the week.
SINIS values this collaboration, recognizing the importance of using internationally accredited training to strengthen local sports development.
The ADF Sports Program will run from October 7-12.
